St Patrick's Day

I LOVE St Patty's Day!!
This year we decided to make green eggs and ham. The kids were scared to eat it, but ended up loving it.

Hope and Brady have to wear uniforms to school, and were very excited that they got a dress down day in the middle of the week. They decided they wanted to go all out for the day. Hope found a cute hat and Brady decided he wanted green hair. They both wanted green face paint, but that is against school code. I dropped the kids off and headed home to get things for Hope's class together ( a secret leprechaun was visiting them all month long). I was gone no more than 5 minuets when my phone started ringing. It was the kids school's name on the screen. When I answered I heard the saddest little voice on the other end saying "Mom will you come pick my up?" I quickly thought "oh no Brady is sick!!" Nope after I asked Bubba "What was wrong??" He replied he as not allowed to have colored hair and I needed to pick him up. I was a little confused because every other holiday dress down day I see children running around with colored hair, but I did not want to argue so I went and picked him up. After taking him home to shower, taking him back to school, going back home, and then 45 minuets later going back to the school to decorate Hope's classroom I was a little tired of the going back and forth game. When I pulled in children were playing out in the field, and what did I see??? 3 little boys with GREEN HAIR!! Oh my goodness I was so angry. Why would my son have to miss math just to go home and shower when other children were allowed to stay that way the entire day?? When I got home I sent an email to the director and the response I received was Brady's teacher did not believe in teaching about St. Patrick's day because it was a day based about religion. She was the person who decided Brady would have to go home!! I was so angry, and after a few back and forth emails between myself, the director, and his teacher they both apologized. Even though that did not make everything OK I know we did not do anything wrong, and I was happy I was able to show Brady to stand up for himself and know right from wrong.

I do not have any pictures of Zoey on St Patty's day because she would not wear green. Zoey will only wear pj's, princess dresses, or a tutu. If I am lucky and win the daily fight to have her wear normal clothing it must be pink, purple or have a puppy on it!!
